Dispute Resolution Experience and Training
Todd Bailey received his law degree (with distinction) from Duke University Law School. Since 1993 he has been actively involved in the mediation of disputes for the Southern District of Ohio Federal Court. He was trained as a mediator in Washington, D.C. at the Center for Dispute Settlement. He has spoken frequently at seminars on a wide variety of topics involving commercial litigation, unfair competition, civil procedure, professionalism and ethics.
Professional Experience
Mr. Bailey is Of Counsel with the law firm of Frost Brown Todd. He has over 33 years of legal experience and is admitted to practice in Ohio and in the federal courts in Ohio and Kentucky. He is a member of the adjunct faculty of the School of Business at Miami University where he teaches a 400 level course on e-commerce, doing business over the internet and intellectual property topics. He is an adjunct faculty member at Xavier University in the MBA program, teaching 900 level courses in e-commerce and law and ethics.
Primary Practice Area
Mr. Bailey's practice is focused on civil litigation and dispute resolution. He recently chaired the Cincinnati Bar Association Intellectual Property Litigation Committee and is active in the ABA Intellectual Property Section. He currently chairs the e-commerce Committee of the Cincinnati Bar Association. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in copyright, trademark and patent litigation, as well as in unfair competition and trade secret misappropriation litigation. In addition, he has a broad range of litigation experience in large, complex commercial litigation, contract disputes and products liability matters - both in counseling clients regarding their business interests and in representing their interests in litigation.
Selected Honors, Professional and Civic Memberships
Mr. Bailey is a former President of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and Chaired the 2004 Annual FBA National Convention Planning Committee. He is active on the ADR and Ethics Committees for the Cincinnati Bar Association, is a member of the OSBA Intellectual Property and Litigation Sections and serves on the Advisory Council to the Dean of Arts and Sciences at Miami University. He is involved in a range of civic and charitable activities and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Miami University in recognition of his service.
